Historic District Commission Minutes, 05/03/2011
Historic District Commission
Minutes
Land Use Meeting Room
May 3, 2011

Members present: Chair Jason Berger, JB; Claire Cantone, CC; Steve Sample, SS;
Elaine Steinert, ES
Staff present: Peggy Ammendola, PA

Danielle Dragonetti, 35 Housatonic St., Map 43 Parcel 170, signs.  Making the presentation was Ms. Dragonetti.  She is requesting to place an oval, wooden sign on the Housatonic Street side which will hang from a bracket, perpendicular to the building to be place at a height of nine feet.  The second sign would be on the parking lot side of the building.  It would be rectangular, placed flush to the wall and measure 9 inches wide and 30 inches tall. The sign color is stained a light purple and the lettering will be carved and cream in color.

SS made a motion to approve the signs as presented and ES seconded the motion.  The Commission voted to agree 4-0.

Ms. Dragonetti had submitted a subsequent application for replacing the take out window on the parking lot side with the original window that had been removed.  The Commission felt that the request was not significant and therefore agreed the applicant could make this change without filing a request.  (On May 3, 2011 PA submitted an email to the Building Department advising them of this determination.)

Ellen G. Chenaux, Birchwood Inn 7 Hubbard St., Map 46 Parcel 31, replace signs.
No one was present to make the presentation.  SS made a motion to continue to May 17, 2011, the date for the applicant’s meeting to request a deck.  ES seconded the motion and the Commission voted to agree 4-0.
